(Hong Kong, 27 March 2015) - China Tontine Wines Group Limited ("Tontine Wines" or the "Group" , Stock code: 0389), one of the largest sweet wine producers in the PRC, today announced its audited annual results for the year ended 31 December 2014.

In 2014, the Group recorded revenue of approximately RMB286.3 million, increasing by about 62.7% over last year. The sales of sweet wine products recorded revenue of about RMB151.9 million, representing about 53% of the total revenue, while the sales of dry wine and brandy products recorded revenue of about RMB134.4 million, representing about 47% of the total revenue. The growth in revenue was mainly due to (i) the inclusion of the revenue of Yantai Baiyanghe Winery Co., Ltd. ("Yantai Baiyanghe") in which the Group acquired its 60% equity interest in 2013 and thus enrich the Group's wine products portfolio through the acquisition; and (ii) an increase in sales volume due to the improvement of the grape wine market for the year.

Mr. Wang Guangyuan, Chairman of Tontine Wines, said, "Following the deteriorating market condition in 2013, Chinas grape wine industry faced a challenging start in 2014. However, as the mass and commercial consumption had replaced the officials' spending, we could clearly see the gradual bottom-out of the high-end grape wine sector, most evidently in the decline of the distribution channels' inventories to a reasonable level and the continued stabilization of retail prices. The consumption structure of the grape wine market has become more rational. At the same time, the increasing mass market and commercial consumption has become a driving force for the development of the middle and low-end grape wine sectors. We are proactively adjusting our product mix and pricing strategies to focus on mid-range and low-end products to explore new opportunities to sustain long-term development."

As at 31 December 2014, the Group sold products through a network of over 100 distributors covering 22 provinces, 3 autonomous regions and 4 municipalities in the PRC. The Group also made product sales through jiuxian.com to further optimize the channel coverage and expedite sales.

Besides having sales channels with high market penetration, the Group has been named as a "National Leading Dragon Head Enterprise in Agricultural Industrialisation" and its Tonghua Mountain Grape Wine Cultural and Technological Park has been approved as a national 4A-level scenic area. These accolades would help to strengthen the Group's brand development.

Mr. Wang concluded, "We believe the worst time for the grape wine industry has passed. The market demand for grape wine products will be supported by the increasing income levels of the Chinese citizens as well as accelerated urbanization. Thus, we are confident in the long term development of the grape wine industry. The Group will continue to implement its product and channel diversification strategies and we will focus on the middle and low-end sectors by increasing efforts on the promotion and sales of the new products, and to expand as well as further strengthen the sales network. We will proactively explore more unconventional channels in addition to the traditional ones, such as major on-line shopping platforms, to increase sales coverage and market share. Moreover, we will continue to ensure an effective allocation of resources through refined management in order to improve operational efficiency, and adopt stringent financial policies to create favorable conditions for the stable and long term sustainable development of Tontine Wines as well as enduring returns to our investors and shareholders."
