23.05.2023 / 06:30 CET/CEST

Comet's Board of Directors has appointed Meike Boekelmann as Chief Human Resources Officer and member of the Executive Committee. She will assume this position no later than December 1, 2023. At the same time, Comet announces the resignation of Chief Information Officer Keighley Peters.

Meike Boekelmann (1976), a German national, brings more than 20 years of experience in leading global HR organizations and in the areas of talent development and employee engagement. In her career, she has shaped HR in companies in the energy, technology, and chemical engineering sectors on an international level.

After launching her career at E.ON in 2001, Meike Boekelmann held various leadership positions at Baker Hughes starting in 2003, including in Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and the U.A.E.. In 2015, she moved to Switzerland to join Sulzer, where she was appointed Global Head HR Chemtech and member of the Chemtech divisional leadership team in 2017. In this function, Meike Boekelmann was responsible for the design and implementation of the HR strategy. Meike Boekelmann holds a master's degree in economics and social science from Leuphana University Lüneburg.

At the same time, Comet announces that CIO Keighley Peters will leave Comet at the end of May 2023 to take on a new challenge outside the company. Until a successor is found, Erich Kalbermatten, Head of Business Applications, will lead the IT functions.

"With Meike Boekelmann, we were able to recruit a proven professional with international experience and great expertise in the HR topics that are strategically relevant for Comet. She will play a central role in the implementation of our focus strategy via the further development of the HR function," said Stephan Haferl, CEO of Comet. "I would like to thank Keighley Peters for the exceptional cooperation over the past few years and wish him every success in his future career.".
