Significant expansion in advisory expertise for insurance companies and pension funds

Munich, 21 June 2018 - Golding Capital Partners (GCP), one of Europe's leading independent asset managers for alternative investments, strengthens its advisory capacities for institutional investors from the insurance and pension fund segment with a high-calibre new hire. As Managing Director, Marco Sedlmayr is responsible for institutional client services and sales activities in this investor segment in German-speaking countries.

The appointment of Marco Sedlmayr enables GCP to further significantly expand its advisory competence and expertise, especially in the insurance and pension fund segment. Marco Sedlmayr previously worked at Allianz Global Investors, where he was a member of the European insurance team responsible for supporting insurance companies and pension fund managers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. His work focused on the structuring and implementation of individual investment solutions to align capital investments with increasing regulatory challenges, such as the Solvency II Directive, and the ongoing low-interest rate environment.

"Our clear strategy is to build on our leading market position as an independent specialist for alternative investments in Germany and beyond. So as competent partners it is essential that we can advise our investors on dealing with greater regulatory complexity", explained Jeremy Golding, Founder and Managing Partner of GCP.

Marco Sedlmayr has more than 13 years of experience in advising institutional clients in the asset management and auditing sectors. He began his career auditing insurance companies at KPMG in Munich. Other roles took him to J.P. Morgan in Frankfurt and Institutional Sales & Relationship Management at the Crédit Agricole Group in Munich, where he was also responsible for the insurance and pension fund segment.

"The changes affecting investments by insurers and pension funds that have taken place in recent years are extremely wide-ranging and call for consistent structural change in the way this client segment is supported. Our primary advisory objective is therefore a clear understanding of which regulatory, accounting or capital market factors impact an investor's capital investments in its specific situation. Only then can we develop and offer targeted solutions. So we are very pleased to have attracted such an experienced investment expert as Marco Sedlmayr to GCP" added Hubertus Theile-Ochel, Managing Partner of GCP.
