HPS Home Power Solutions GmbH to present 100% energy solution for self-supply for the first time at the Hannover Messe 2017

- Year-round energy from your own solar system - even in winter

- Energy storage, heating support and indoor ventilation in one compact product

- Greatest possible grid independence - reliable in every season

Berlin, Germany, 11 April 2017 - HPS Home Power Solutions GmbH (HPS), the Berlin-based energy solutions provider which fulfills homeowners' desire for energy independence, will be exhibiting at the Hannover Messe 2017 for the first time. The Company will display the world's first all-in-one unit to supply year-round power from the consumer's own home solar system at the leading trade fair, Integrated Energy, in hall 27, booth number L51. With 6,500 exhibitors, the Hannover Messe is the world's leading industrial show, open 24-28 April 2017 daily from 9:00am to 6:00pm CET.

The HPS system Picea combines energy storage, heating support and indoor ventilation in one compact product, thereby ensuring the greatest possible independence in energy supply for homeowners. Thanks to its high-performance energy manager, Picea has a high degree of energy utilization. With an output of up to 8 kW and a maximum peak power capacity of up to 20 kW, Picea can supply year-round power for the average four-person household. The system's storage capacity can be easily scaled, and therefore adjusted to meet the annual energy consumption of a family home. Compared to commercially available battery solutions in the home energy storage market, Picea has a hundred times more storage capacity and twice the output. In addition, all waste heat produced is used to provide the house with heat and hot water, thus lowering the cost of heating.

"We are looking forward to presenting our energy solution Picea at the Hannover Messe to interested parties who are planning to build a new house or to renovate an existing building, as well as to potential sales partners. The leading trade fair, Integrated Energy, offers us the ideal platform," commented Zeyad Abul-Ella, Managing Director and Co-Founder of HPS Home Power Solutions GmbH. "With Picea, we can provide our customers with the greatest possible transparency in energy supply."

The system is equipped with standard interfaces to common heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) technology and can be utilized in existing as well as new buildings. With its integrated ventilation equipment, the system is ideally adapted to the standards of modern homes, where it is able to achieve maximum efficiency. The user-friendly control system is linked to an app that displays all important operating and consumption data to the user at any time. Throughout 2017, pilot installations of Picea will be running in a range of environments. Distribution to end customers is planned in 2018.

About HPS Home Power Solutions GmbH (HPS):
HPS develops and produces systems for storing and using solar energy in single- and multi-family homes. HPS stands for safety, independence and sustainability in decentralized energy supply. The first system from HPS, Picea, combines energy storage, heating support and indoor ventilation in one compact system. Thanks to its high-performance energy management system, Picea is able to meet the complete electrical energy needs of a family home. In addition, all waste heat produced is used to provide the house with heat and hot water, thus lowering the cost of heating. Compared to commercially available battery solutions, Picea has a hundred times more storage capacity with twice the output. Picea is energy efficient and provides energy in all seasons. This allows Picea to provide complete energy self-supply and independence from the grid. The energy produced by the photovoltaic installation on sunny days can either be used straightaway, or converted into hydrogen and stored. This energy is then made available at night or during the winter when there is little or no sunshine. The HPS system's fuel cell converts the energy stored as hydrogen back into electrical energy and heat as needed. HPS is based in Berlin.
