Jungfraubahn Holding AG Media Release Tuesday, 9 September 2014

Jungfrau Railway Group achieves half-year profit of 11.7 million francs.
The Jungfrau Railway Group can look back on a good course of business in the first semester of 2014. It achieved operating revenue of CHF 79.5 million, an increase of CHF 2.1 million, or 2.7%, compared to the previous year. The increase in revenue was largely due to increased traffic income, which rose by CHF 1.4 million over the same period in 2013.
Excursion traffic to the Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe continues to benefit from the rising demand from Asia. Some 354,900 visitors travelled to the Jungfraujoch in the first half of 2014, 20,700 more than last year. The fact that the company has continued to intensively cultivate the Asian market and strengthen the Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe brand has clearly borne fruit.

After a good start to the 2013/2014 winter season, the result for the period under review from January to the end of the 2014 season dropped below average. The continuing decline in the number of holiday guests meant that despite good snow conditions, fewer winter-sport guests travelled to the Jungfrau Region. From 1 January 2014 to the end of the winter season, the JUNGFRAU Ski Region, of which the Jungfrau Railway Group has a 60% revenue share, recorded 868,100 skier visits and thus a reduction of 5.2%. The resultant revenue from the winter-sport business for the Jungfrau Railway Group was CHF 17.7 million, a reduction of 4.0%. This result lies considerably below the good winter-sport years.

In the first semester of 2014, the Jungfrau Railway Group achieved a profit of CHF 11.7 million, a half-year result of 5.6% above that of the previous year. The company recorded an operative result (EBIT) of CHF 14.9 million and achieved an EBIT margin of 18.7%.

Prospects
The Jungfrau Railway Group started the second semester with a new attraction. On July 16, 2014, the Lindt Swiss Chocolate Heaven was opened on the Jungfraujoch, accompanied by a Show tennis match with Roger Federer. Despite the poor weather, 264,000 visitors
travelled to the Jungfraujoch in July and August, equal to the number of visitors for the same period in the 2012 centenary year.
