+++ Initiative 'dichter dran' (being closer) grows to 14 members +++ Expansion of recruitment activities crucial for entry +++
Frankfurt, 15 October 2012 - Merck Inhouse Consulting is a new member of the 'dichter dran' initiative with immediate effect. The in-house management consultancy of the Merck Group thus brings further expertise to the initiative. It enables members to benefit from a valuable exchange of opinions involving projects across all industry and public sectors.
'Merck Inhouse Consulting is a career springboard for talents and provides excellent insights into all the divisions of the Merck Group. Approximately 90 percent of our consultants take on a managerial position after two to four years', explains Hans-Jürgen Müller, Head of Merck Inhouse Consulting. 'Having a dedicated incubator role, we are always looking for highly qualified candidates.'
Since Merck Inhouse Consulting was founded in 2001, the unit has grown continuously and gets regularly involved in company-wide projects initiated by the Board and senior management of the Merck Group. Approximately 30 consultants form the internal consulting unit conduct around 70 large-scale projects every year. A third of these projects are carried out within Merck companies outside the headquarters. The interdisciplinary team provides support for strategic questions and subsequent project implementation work. In approximately 80 percent of the consulting projects the work focusses on strategic problems in the fields of chemicals, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and central functions, while the functional portfolio covers growth, efficiency and restructuring projects.
With the entry of Merck Inhouse Consulting, the 'dichter dran' initiative has grown from seven to overall fourteen companies since it was founded in 2008. For further information about the initiative, please refer to the website: www.inhouse-consulting.de.
