Sixt and Aral launch the world’s first fuel card for the car hire industry on the market
  • Sixt Corporate Card Plus enables considerably quicker invoicing processes for corporate customers and reduces overall costs in the long term

Munich/Bochum, 5 March 2015 – Refuelling for corporate customers has just got easier and cheaper: Sixt, Germany’s largest car hire company, has developed the Sixt Corporate Card Plus in conjunction with Aral, the largest petrol station network operator in Germany – a completely new product for the car hire industry. In doing so, Sixt and Aral have made the invoicing process for refuelling hire cars much easier, thereby considerably reducing processing costs for company travel invoices. Sixt is the first car hire company worldwide to offer its corporate customers this service.

Until now, payment for fuel in hire cars has been made using cash or credit card. This results in separate invoices and a high level of expenditure for companies as individual fuel receipts have to be manually allocated to the respective hire car contract.

Now business travellers can hire their vehicle at Sixt using the new card and easily refuel at all Aral petrol stations in Germany without the need for cash. The Corporate Card Plus is only valid for that specific hire car and only during the specified rental period. Fuel invoicing is processed via the Sixt rental contract. Customers also get a detailed overview of when the tank was filled up and the respective fuel price as an appendix to the invoice. This offer means more efficient processes for the customer and also offers more security in terms of invoicing. Electronic invoicing means that the entire process has been made much quicker.

Alexander Sixt, Member of the Board at Sixt SE: ‘The Sixt Corporate Card Plus is a substantial new offering for the car hire industry. We have developed an innovative product together with our partner Aral that enables corporate customers quicker and therefore eventually cheaper possibilities of invoicing fuel costs. This underlines the fact that we are constantly devising solutions to make car hire even more comfortable and flexible in the best interests of our customers’.

Stefan Brok, Director of Aral AG: ‘The new fuel card and the services linked to it for business customers are unique to the car hire market. It is the result of successful collaboration between both companies with the aim of developing an innovative service solution tailored to the needs of customers that can also tap into new customer groups’.
