Rising stars sought for the 2018 Young Pro Award

 
  • Unique award to encourage and promote young dental professionals
  • €10 000 cash prize + trips to 2018 bone&tissue days World Congress in Berlin
  • Call for abstracts closes 15 September
 

Basel/Berlin 20 June 2018: The Straumann Group and botiss biomaterials are pleased to announce the opening of the 2018 Young Pro Award in Regenerative Dentistry. Currently in its third cycle, the Award aims to promote and encourage the development of young dental professionals in the field of regenerative dentistry and dental biomaterials research.

 

Dental professionals, students and researchers under the age of 35 are invited to compete for the prize by submitting original work that contributes to the advancement of treatment/care in regenerative dentistry or to research in the field. Dissertations, projects or practical work-experience may form the basis of the submission. The entries will be adjudicated by a distinguished panel of experts in the field.

 

The 2018 award will be presented at the botiss bone&tissue days World Congress on 9–10 November in Berlin. The winner will receive a cash prize of 10 000 euros and – together with the two runners-up – will be offered a free trip to the Congress. The winning submission will be published in STARGET DIGITAL.

Previous winners

2015: Andreas Pabst, DMD, was a resident in Oral- and Maxillofacial surgery at the Federal Armed Forces hospital in Koblenz, Germany, and a researcher at the University Medical Center Mainz. His winning entry was entitled: ‘In-vitro and in-vivo characterization of biocompatibility and biomechanical properties of a new acellular collagen matrix (mucoderm®)’.

 

2016: Vítor Sapata, MSc., was a practitioner from Maringá, Brazil and Research Scholar at the University of Zurich Clinic for Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics and Dental Material Science. The subject of his work was localized bone regeneration around dental implants using biological mediators.
