VERBUND, Austria's leading electricity company and KKR, a leading global investment firm, have signed the contracts for the already announced sale of the French combined cycle gas power plants Pont-Sur-Sambre and Toul today.

"This sale is a significant milestone for VERBUND in the optimisation of the thermal power plant portfolio. With this transaction we consistently implement our strategy, namely the focus on profitable and environmentally friendly hydropower generation and the stable core markets of Austria and Germany. In addition, we improve our future earnings and strengthen our position as a renewable electricity producer in Europe, "says CFO Peter F. Kollmann to the successful sale.

After the finalisation of the transaction, there will be no negative contributions to results in connection with both of the disposed French combined cycle gas turbine power plants from financial year 2015.
