Building permission for university campus legally binding
Permission for the construction of the university campus at the Suurstoffi site in Rotkreuz is legally binding. No complaints were received within the 20-day deadline to the permission granted by the Risch municipal council. Construction on the Suurstoffi campus for the University of Lucerne can thus commence. Completion is scheduled for summer 2019.

The development plan for Suurstoffi West was accepted on November 29, 2016 by the Risch Municipal Assembly and approved on March 28, 2017 by the Cantonal Government of Canton Zug.

The Suurstoffi site, next to Rotkreuz station, will thus be home to a sustainable mixed-use district with space for around 1,500 inhabitants, around 2,000 students and over 2,500 jobs.
