Press release
Migros and Zur Rose
Opening of the first Zur Rose shop-in-shop pharmacy in
a Migros branch
From today, on Marktgasse in Bern, Migros Aare will be operating the first branch with a Zur Rose shop-in-shop pharmacy. Customers can now conveniently combine their shopping at Migros with the purchase of pharmaceuticals and at the same time also collect Cumulus points. The compact pharmacy offers a comprehensive range of pharmacy goods at attractive prices.
Both Migros and Zur Rose are committed to the health of the Swiss population. For Migros this cooperative venture is another building block in its iMpuls health initiative. The shop-in-shop pharmacy complies with the brand image of Zur Rose and stands out from the remaining retail area. It is located near to Migros' own cosmetics and health range. The compact pharmacy takes up around 50 square metres of floor space.
Operated by Zur Rose specialists
A team made up of pharmacists and pharmacy assistants from Zur Rose is responsible for running the shop-in-shop pharmacy. The offering includes a comprehensive range of pharmacy goods, including both prescription and non-prescription (OTC) drugs as well as selected cosmetics and health products. The specialist staff ensure the provision of competent advice and offer additional services such as travel and vaccination advice, as well as blood pressure measurement.
Multi-channel shopping at attractive prices
The opening hours of the shop-in-shop pharmacy match those of the Marktgasse branch. Multi-channel shopping is possible: Products can be ordered online, collected from the branch or of course delivered at home. The customers benefit from attractive prices: The same favourable conditions apply in the shop-in-shop pharmacy as in the Zur Rose mail-order pharmacy. Prescription drugs are on average 11 to 12 percent cheaper in the Zur Rose pharmacy than in other pharmacies. The items are paid for in the shop-in-shop pharmacy, with Migros customers also able to collect Cumulus points for their purchases.
The shop-in-shop pharmacy on Bern's Marktgasse is a pilot store. If this very promising concept is a success, more shop-in-shop pharmacies are soon to follow in other Migros branches.
