Metalloinvest announces new sustainability rating from ISS ESG

 

Moscow, Russia - 28 August 2020 - Metalloinvest ("the Company"), a leading global iron ore and HBI producer and supplier, and one of the regional producers of high-quality steel, today announces that the Company has received a new sustainability rating from ISS ESG, a leading international agency.

ISS ESG covers more than 200 Metals & Mining companies across the world and bases its assessment of a company's sustainability performance on approximately 100 criteria, selected specifically for each industry. Following the assessment, Metalloinvest obtained a "C-" rating, with the overall performance score just above the industry's average (effective since 27 August 2020).

This latest assessment provided by ISS ESG, a leading international sustainability agency, is a new step towards meeting the market demand for independent and professional insight on the Company's ESG profile. We clearly recognise the areas where the Company should improve in its sustainability policies and practices going forward to meet the highest standards."

ISS ESG assessment is the second sustainability rating the Company has received. Since 2018, Metalloinvest has been annually assessed by the international agency EcoVadis. In 2019, Metalloinvest was awarded a 'Silver' CSR rating with 60 points, while the industry average was 43 points.
